Sophie Cubbison was born on a lima bean ranch and the age of 16, she began cooking for her father and brothers as well as the hired hands on the ranch to save money for college. After marrying Harry Cubbison, they started a bread business. Later, products included breaded stuffing, still selling in grocery stores today.

Richard Vaughn was a singer, multi-instrumentalist, orchestra leader, and A&R man for Dot Records. While in college, he joined The Hilltoppers, playing piano and singing. He wrote their first hit, Trying, in 1952. In 1954 he left the group to join Dot Records as music director, and subsequently formed his own orchestra which had a hit single, Melody of Love. Vaughn charted 42 singles, and thirty six albums on the Billboard 200.

Jim Londos, born Christos Theofilou, was known as The Golden Greek in professional wrestling during the 20s-40s. Londos retired in 1946 and worked for charitable organizations, and was honored by US President Richard Nixon and King Paul of Greece.

Momčilo R. Đujić was a Dalmatian Serb Chetnik commander who led a significant portion of the Chetniks in the northern Dalmatia region of Croatia during World War II. He ultimately surrendered to the British and eventually emigrated to the US, and later wrote poems and jokes.

Pete Coscarart was a Major League baseball player from 1938-46, including the 1941 World Series with Brooklyn. He tried organizing a players' union, but was out of baseball before the pension plan was adopted in 1947. He became a pro scout and signed Greg Nettles. He later went into real estate. In 2001 he and others lost a suit for royalties from baseball cards and other merchandise.
