Cale JJ
"JJ" Cale was a singer-songwriter, recording artist and guitarist. He is considered to be one of the originators of the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz. Many songs written by Cale have been recorded by other artists, including "After Midnight", Cocaine", "Call Me the Breeze", "Clyde", "I Got The Same Old Blues", and "Magnolia". In 2008 he and Eric Clapton received a Grammy for their album, The Road to Escondido.
Dance Helen
Helen Dance was a jazz enthusiast and music journalist contributing to the Chicago Herald Tribune, Down Beat magazine, Tempo, Swing, and Jazz Hot. She organized concerts and produced recording sessions for small record labels. During WWII, she volunteered as a WAC where her journalistic background led to her assignment with the OSS, eventually serving as an undercover courier. She and husband Stanley attended state dinners with Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter and Clinton.
Graham BG Paul
Paul Graham was a Marine and served as platoon commander on Guam and Iwo Jima. After WWII, he instructed at the US Naval Academy until 1951. Rising through the ranks to BGen, he became Commanding General of Camp Pendleton. In April 1975, he became West Cost Marine Corps Coordinator, to accept and process over 50,000 Vietnamese and Thais refugees. For meritorious service in the resettlement of Indo-Chinese refugees to the US, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal from President Gerald Ford.
Martin Hugh
Hugh Martin was a musical theater and film composer, arranger, vocal coach, and playwright. He was best known for his score for the 1944 MGM musical Meet Me In St. Louis, in which Judy Garland sang three Martin songs: "The Boy Next Door," "The Trolley Song," and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Film work included songs for Athena (1954) starring Jane Powell, Debbie Reynolds, and Vic Damone; The Girl Most Likely (1957) starring Jane Powell; and Best Foot Forward (1943) which starred Lucille Ball.
Murray MajG Raymond
Major General Raymond Murray was a highly decorated US Marine Corps officer who earned two Navy Crosses, one during WWII on Guadalcanal and a second during the Korean War. After the Korean War, he served as the Commanding Officer at the Marine School at Quantico, Commanding Officer and Chief of Staff at Camp Pendelton and Camp Lejeune, 1964-66 was the Inspector General of the Marine Corps, and served a tour in Vietnam as Deputy Commander, III Marine Amphibious Force.
Osborne Marie
Marie Osborne Yeats was the first major child star of American silent films. She was usually billed simply as Baby Marie. Osborne made her debut in 1914's short drama film Kidnapped in New York. By the age of five she was starring in silent films. Her best remembered movie is Little Mary Sunshine from 1916, and at age eight, she completed her final film as a child star, Miss Gingersnap in 1919. She returned to acting in 1934's Carolina, starring Janet Gaynor and Lionel Barrymore. Over the next 16 years, Osborne worked as a film extra, and was a stand-in for actresses such as Ginger Rogers, Deanna Durbin, and Betty Hutton. Her last on-screen appearance in Bunco Squad (1950). Stubbs Charles
Chuck Stubbs was a child actor from 1934-1941, mostly uncredited, including in Heidi, Boys Town, Angels with Dirty Faces, Stagecoach, One Million BC, and a voice in the animated Dumbo. After serving in WWII, he became a business and civic leader.
Feeney Joseph
Joe Feeney was a tenor singer who was a member of The Lawrence Welk Show on TV. He also has the distinction of singing for five US Presidents and performed at Carnegie Hall three times. In 1975 he sang for Pope Paul VI at the canonization of Mother Seton.
