Marian Marsh was an actress in film shorts, then with small roles in Howard Hughes' Hell's Angels (1930) and Eddie Cantor's musical, Whoopee! (1930). After signing with Warner Bros, her name was changed from Violet Ethelred Krauth to Marian Marsh, and she had success starring in 1931's Svengali with John Barrymore. Other films included Five Star Final, The Mad Genius, The Road to Singapore, Beauty and the Boss, Under 18, Crime and Punishment, and The Black Room, all with big-name costars.
