John Rothrock started his baseball career as as an outfielder in 1925. In 1928, he played every position and pitched a perfect game. In 1934, he batted .284, led the NL with 647 at-bats, had 35 doubles, 11 homers, 72 RBIs and scored 106 runs, plus drove in six runs to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Detroit Tigers in seven games in the 1934 World Series.
